What Is Unless The Lord Builds?
Church of The Redeemer is launching a three-month capital stewardship campaign called Unless The Lord Builds. It’s an effort designed to challenge us to commit to sacrificial giving over a period of three years. Campaign gifts are given in addition to any present support for our church. Families are encouraged during the campaign to seek God’s leadership as they determine a three-year, weekly or monthly, commitment for their giving. This campaign will be done in the hopes of raising enough funds to complete several major building projects without incurring a significant amount of debt.
Our Goals
For over 163 years, a faithful gospel presence has been maintained on the corner lot of Sydney and Minnesota. Church of The Redeemer has been a part of that story for the last twelve years. Due to its continual usage week in and week out, our building is in need of several major renovations in order to faithfully entrust it to the next generation. The first renovation will be a new slate roof and gutters. Tuck-pointing will need to be done to the brick alongside repairing all the broken concrete from the window wells to the front steps. Renovations will take place inside as well as we turn a large storage room and old recording studio into classroom spaces. We will also be remodeling our Fellowship Hall so that it can be divided into three separate spaces.
The Lord is faithful. On November 5th we announced that we have reached all of our financial commitment goals! Our Victory Goal is the minimum required to replace our roof, our Challenge Goal is roughly our operating budget for a ministry year, and our Hallelujah Goal will help us make lasting renovations throughout the entire building.
